Sr. Manager, Revenue Accounting

The Sr. Manager, Revenue Accounting will lead our Revenue recognition team. The ideal candidate has strong Revenue experience, excellent problem solving skills, and proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-task-oriented environment. This person will play a critical role in managing or supporting various digitization projects, cross-functional strategic initiatives, and new product introduction.
Your impact
- Lead Revenue team and manage day-to-day revenue operation tasks. Manage monthly and quarterly revenue close activities and ensure timeline is met and that reporting is accurate.
- Evaluate current revenue processes, accounting, systems and procedures and drive changes to scale the business to support the growth of the company
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to structure and review customer contracts, identify revenue recognition issues or risks and determine proper accounting treatment in accordance with the Company’s revenue recognition policy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support pricing, GTM and other strategic initiatives. Enable implementation of operational processes for new go-to-market motions, and ensure business transactions are appropriately accounted for.

- A proactive sense of urgency, and who knows how to overcome obstacles to get things done in a timely fashion
- Establishes collaborative working relationships and maintains confidences across and between dedicated team members and AppFolio.
- Does not let important details slip through the cracks. Ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines effectively with a bias for action, operates with urgency, driven to “do” great work.
Must have
- Experience working for a public company, preferably in the technology industry
- Proficient understanding of (US GAAP) software revenue recognition including extensive experience in the application of ASC 606 and working knowledge of all other current authoritative literature related to revenue recognition
- Strong experience in end-to-end quote to cash / revenue accounting business processes
- Ability to proactively identify areas for improvement and provide well thought out solutions and effectively carry out the implementation of those solutions
Compensation & Benefits
The base salary/hourly wage that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $132,000 - 198,000. The actual base salary/hourly wage for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc.
Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses/commissions that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
