Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Performs various accounting functions for University and University component units to include: generating monthly invoices, processing vendor payments, recording receipts and payments, preparing monthly journal entries, reconciling various general ledger accounts, assisting with preparation of annual budget, loading approved annual budget into accounting software, preparing financial reports as needed.
- Assists with preparation of annual audited financial statements, recording inventory adjustments and assisting auditors with the review of physical inventories, serves as contact person for general accounting questions.
- Prepares monthly analysis of building rental, equipment rental, and software subscription expenditures.
- Monitors lease and software subscription agreements for University and University component units.
- Updates lease accounting software (UGAAP) with new and amended lease and software subscription agreements.
- Prepares monthly journal entries for lease and software subscription agreements.
- Monthly reconciliation of various general ledger accounts to UGAAP reports.
- Monitors tenant work order system and requests vendor services as needed.
- Reconciles various operating, payroll and other bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Records and reconciles transactions for other areas as needed.
- Approves certain payments, requisitions and journal entries for the Controller.
- Utilizes a calculator and personal computer to perform accounting duties.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
- Related duties as required.
