Job description
Tri-Mac Toyota is looking for an Accounting Assistant to join its team. This position involves performing basic and routine accounting functions as related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll activities.
We’re looking either for an experienced candidate who can hit the ground running or a diligent learner looking to extend their skill set by taking on a key role in our organization with mentorship from experienced colleagues.
What would your duties be as an Accounting Assistant at Tri-Mac Toyota?
The Accounting Assistant at Tri-Mac Toyota is responsible for managing all financial activities in an ever-evolving environment. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Payable and receivable processes
- Keeping receivable ledger up to date
- Managing on-site cash and credit card transactions received in the accounting office.
- Monthly bank statement reconciliation
- Preparing and checking all invoices and obtaining appropriate payment approval
- Maintaining employee payroll data such as direct deposit information, deductions, and personal information
- Bi-weekly payroll processing, including preparation and filing of government remittances
- Processing and verifying vehicle sales transactions in accounting
- Assisting with annual parts inventory count and other routine audits
- Assisting our Controller with monthend statement preparation
What qualifications are we looking for?
- Diploma or degree with concentration in accounting required
- Strong attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to meet deadlines
- Hardworking, self-motivated and have excellent time management skills
- Strong teamplayer with ability to multitask
- Proficient in Microsoft 365
- 3-5 years experience in an accounting role considered an asset
