POSITION PURPOSE
The Manager will work within the EMEA Fund Admin & Accounting Team. The candidate will be based in London and will work with team members based in London and Luxembourg. The Manager will work on UK and Luxembourg based T. Rowe Price sponsored investment products and will be mainly responsible of the oversight of internal and external service providers for fund accounting and financial reporting, in collaboration with the Senior Managers of the team.
Principal Responsibilities
Oversight for Accounting Processes and Information
- Works with the Senior Managers on the supervision of the third-party fund accounting and financial reporting agent for Luxembourg and UK based T. Rowe Price products.
- Manages the organization of the service review meetings with the third-party fund accounting agent and will be one of the day-to-day contact for any query on NAVs.
- Responsible to supervise the work performed by the internal service providers in charge of fund accounting and financial reporting oversight.
- Helps to resolve complex accounting issues as they arise.
- Responsible for reviewing financial statements of UK based products.
- Responsible for reviewing expense accruals calculations of Luxembourg and UK based products.
- Assists financial reporting team in managing the requests received from local external auditors and will be responsible to escalate to the Senior Managers any issues.
- Works on NAV error resolution, including impact calculation and also working with internal and external teams to determine cause and appropriate recommendations for process improvement.
- Responsible for different fund accounting oversight tasks like the review of tax reclaims, late trades, rebates calculation, etc.
- Responsible of the preparation of the reporting to the Board and management on fund accounting and financial reporting activities.
Regulatory reports or regulatory changes
- Provides support to internal teams on regulatory changes impacting fund accounting and/or financial reporting.
- Provides support to the leader of the team for his regulatory responsibilities as Conducting officer of the Luxembourgish office.
Strategic Initiatives
- Liaises with product teams to understand new products or changes to existing products and how that might have downstream impact to accounting related functions. Consults with various functions to ensure readiness.
- Works with Senior Managers on strategic projects which may improve processes, enhance products, implement regulatory changes, etc.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
- Fully qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification.
- At least 4 years of work experience in the asset management or mutual fund industry, preferably within a Big 4 Audit firm
- Very good knowledge of UK GAAP, but also of practices and regulatory issues and their application to a wide variety of areas
- In-depth knowledge of financial reporting framework for mutual funds
- In-depth knowledge of fees and expenses charged to mutual funds
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of a task or process, and see it through from inception to completion
- Excellent analysis and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Works well autonomously and in a team environment.
- Very good skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
