Responsibilities:
Duties include processing daily mail and batch check writing, reconciling and maintaining records of regional daily statements, preparing and maintaining reports for special event sales, sending out daily notifications of big winners, answering the Game Accounting hot-line, assisting retailers, players and LSRs with accounting questions, preparing revenue transmittals, assisting with collection of retailer bad debts, maintaining and enforcing Lottery policy for non-sufficient transfers, and preparing tickets/cash for events, as well as working Lottery events, fulfilling adjustment requests from Lottery retailers and LSRs, including working with vendor software for research purposes, and filing and shredding Game Accounting documents. Assist with documentation, checks and database for Lottery jackpot winners, special events and promotions, and all prizes; retailer accounting problems and inquiries; and W2G tax reporting for winners and balancing yearly 1099 reporting for retailers. Coordinate release of collateral held in safekeeping for protection of the Lottery prize account. Participate in testing of new accounting systems for Scratchers, Draw Games, new Scratcher games and check writing. Analyze prize winner discrepancies and formulate solutions. Examine, balance, and reconcile daily statements, verifying ticket inventory, cash balances and winner claim forms. Examine, balance, and reconcile statements for all Special Venues with ITVM/Gemini placements. Daily posting of non-EFT retailer payments. Review and release all cash receipts in statewide SAMII system. Verify and transfer weekly EFT file to bank system and alert appropriate financial personnel. Some travel required. Applicant must be proficient in Word and Excel. Hours are 8 AM to 5 PM.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in one or a combination of the following: Accounting, Public or Business Administration, or a closely related field.
OR
Four or more years of clerical experience in accounting or bookkeeping, or closely related areas, including two or more years in a semi-technical capacity; and possession of a high school diploma or GED certificate.
Successful candidate must be able to pass an extensive background check.
