Job description
We’re looking for a financial accountant to join our finance team to support us with preparing our monthly, quarterly and annual management and financial accounts. You’ll be leading key accounting areas, providing insightful analysis as part of business partnering with the wider business and budget holders, whilst also maintaining control around reporting.
We’re looking for candidates who have previous experience working within a finance team in a large, multi-site operation preparing the financial statements with relevant entries and supporting schedules. You’d ideally ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified. If you’re not yet qualified and are still studying, no worries as we’ll support you through the remaining exams you have. Knowledge of US and UK GAAP and IFRS accounting standards is desirable, however your ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with a drive to learn and develop is essential.
The best part about this role is that no two days are ever the same! Supporting the UK market to complete accounting and reporting requirements, you’ll also get involved in:
- Developing and maintaining various accounting systems and processes to produce monthly management accounts in accordance with US GAAP for assigned P&L and balance sheet responsibilities
- Recommending and implementing ideas and innovations to improve existing processes
- Collaborating cross functionally with the relevant stakeholders to identify accounting impacts of operational initiatives, unusual transactions and new agreements and projects
- Supporting with producing the required statutory accounts and supporting schedules, as well as providing documents and analysis to support internal and external audits
- Producing monthly and quarterly P&L and balance sheet variance analysis and commentary with related supported schedules
- Producing balance sheet reconciliations and taking part in quarterly and annual forecasts for your area
- Journal posting and month end reporting activities
- Setting up and maintaining accounting controls to ensure compliance with internal controls and applicable accounting regulations
- Participating in ad-hoc projects as required and you may help coordinate activities with external tax and accounting providers as needed.
