Sherwood Co-op is recruiting for the position of full-time Accountant located in Regina, Saskatchewan.

What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Controller, you will:
- Demonstrate and promote Sherwood Co-operative’s values of teamwork, pride, service and excellence consistently in attitude and action.
- Work co-operatively with team members who deliver legendary service to make all guests and employees of our Co-op feel “at home here.”
- Perform general accounting activities by supporting the analysis and preparation of periodic margin calculation, financial reports, and statements.
- Perform and reconcile weekly bank statements ensuring all entries are reconciled and accounted for appropriately.
- Evaluate and assess the co-operatives controls, processes, and procedures.
- Provide senior team members with recommendations on the analysis/testing and audits performed.
- Develop a deep understanding of policies and procedures and provide input into the accounting processes within.
- Work across multiple areas of accounting based on changing business needs.
- Works cooperatively with the Controller on the preparation and analysis of the annual audit and budgeting processes.

Who you are:

- You have, or are working towards a relevant university degree, with a preference for Business or Accounting. A combination of post-secondary education and experience will also be considered.
- You’re proficient with Microsoft Office programs and have a desire to work in a multitude of computer software applications.
- Strong business-oriented written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal and confidentiality skills.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
