Job Title: Senior Accounting Associate

Reports to: Senior Accounting & Firm Partner

Contract Type: Full-Time

Working Location: Hybrid – Raleigh or Charlotte, NC

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Sharpe Patel PLLC is looking for a bright and eager candidate seeking a full-time position in accounting in our Charlotte or Raleigh office. This position would work directly with our tax department. The tax team serves a variety of clients in many industries including nonprofits, medical practices, law firms, construction, entertainment, manufacturing, and more.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

· Maintain multiple clients’ QuickBooks files on monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual basis

· Monthly and year-end closing assistance

· Reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts

· Recording payroll adjustments using outsourced payroll reports

· Analyze general ledger on a periodic basis for misclassifications

· Assist with annual accounting records clean-up for tax preparation

· Learn a thorough knowledge of the client’s business and related needs

· QuickBooks training and implementation

· Prepare 1099s and Business Personal Property Tax listings

· Work with management to create tax plans for clients

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field

· 2-3 years of experience in Public Accounting

· QuickBooks experience

· Ability to maintain demanding timelines

· Ability to work both within a team environment but also can independently prioritize tasks

· Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

· Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products

· General knowledge of accounting principles

· Reliable transportation and ability to work in-person in the Charlotte or Raleigh office multiple days during the week

· QuickBooks Pro Advisor
