The Role
We are now looking for a Financial Accountant, for Subsidiaries, in our Finance and Commercial team, to join us to work closely alongside the Financial Accountant for Charity.
As our Financial Accountant, you will manage the preparation of the Annual Report and Accounts and statutory returns, quarterly VAT returns, management of the annual external audit and oversight of monthly accounting processes; involving Data Services and Business Processes teams, ensuring that accurate accounts are produced on a timely basis.
If successful, some of the main duties of your role will be:
- Providing financial management support to the Business Processes Team, in relation to subsidiaries
- Checking and approving transactions, reviewing reconciliations, supporting with the resolution of discrepancies and ensuring completeness of income by reconciling income between multiple systems
- Leading the external audits for subsidiaries managed at Head Office; including preparation / amalgamation of all audit deliverables, and supporting the Head of Financial Accounts with the preparation of the Group consolidated accounts and annual return
- Statutory filing of subsidiary accounts and submission of any required regulatory returns, any returns due to HMRC; such as VAT, Corporation Tax (including for the main charity) and Construction Industry Scheme submissions
You will have focussed all or part of your career on being a Financial Accountant and you are likely to have worked in an organisation of similar size, scale, and complexity.
We are open to if you are newly qualified, with practice experience and advantageous if you have not for profit / charity experience.
This role will involve hybrid working, travelling on some days, minimum of 2 per week, to our Head Office, which is located at Haig House, 199 Borough High Street, London SE1 1AA, and working from home on other days.
