Accounting Assistant
Hours: 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday to Friday
We are an Industrial/Real Estate group of companies located in Vaughan, Ontario. We are currently seeking an organized individual with accounting experience and excellent computer literacy to assist our Controller. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, comfortable with Accpac accounting software, and able to learn new tasks quickly.
Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with all accounting functions including AP, AR, and GL
- Perform bank accounts reconciliations for different entities
- Prepare and post Journal Entries
- Update, maintain, and verify information in a variety of spreadsheets and databases.
- Assist with Month-End and Year-End reconciliations and preparation
- Maintain filing systems, both electronic and hard copy.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Post Secondary Canadian Education related to accounting
- Experience with Currency exchange and bank documentation requirements
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word and accounting software (Sage/Accpac)
- A keen eye for detail
- Willingness to learn new tasks as they emerge
