The Payroll Accountant is a member of a highly collaborative accounting team reporting to the Accounting Manager. This position plays an important role in the overall Pursuit Finance and Accounting organization by helping prepare timely and accurate financial reports and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures for payroll and other general ledger activities. As a Corporate Payroll Accountant, you will be responsible for, but not limited to preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and supporting the monthly close process.
- $65,000 - $75,000/year
- Hybrid work environment with three days in the office and two from home

- Support the monthly close processes for the entities in North America and Canada through completion of recurring payroll journal entries (not processing payroll).
- As time permits, assist with other accounting activities outside of payroll such as posting entries, reconciling and overseeing standard accounting items for US entities.
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure financial statement accuracy.
- Managing ADP GL Account mapping, running reports and balancing payroll runs.
- Processing equity compensation accounting (restricted stock and stock options).
- Assist with the financial reporting process.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Solve ad-hoc accounting issues following technical US GAAP guidance as needed.
- Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
- Become involved in the operations of the company and suggest improvements to current accounting and reporting processes.
- Complete accounting assignments in an environment of intellectual curiosity, problem solving, accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop relationships with key internal and external partners.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or equivalent work experience required.
- A minimum of two years of work experience in accounting preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Strong commitment to working on a team.
- Ability to be resourceful, flexible and adaptable.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Have solid communication skills, attention to detail and focus on quality.
- Have an excellent hospitality mindset and both internal and external guest service skills.
- Have a strong sense of urgency and desire to “get things done”.
- Have a natural drive and curiosity about how to continuously improve the business.
