Overview
Pragmatic are looking for an Accountant to touch on various aspects of the finance function. Due to the early stages the company finds itself in, this role will give the successful candidate the chance to roll up their sleeves and get involved with the future growth of the company.
The Accountant’s role will be primarily responsible for the month end process, which includes a range of monthly reconciliations to produce and understand as part of each period close. These will then be reviewed with the Finance Manager. Given the expected growth of the company the role will grow, and opportunities will become available due to the scale up expected.
Key tasks
- To perform the month end process, including reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
- To own and reconcile allocated balance sheet accounts and understand what makes up the balance.
- To be responsible for checking accuracy of and processing the monthly payroll journals and reconcile the relevant balance sheet accounts.
- To own the PAYE and NI reporting, ensuring timely payments are made to HMRC and reconciliations are kept up to date and accurate.
- To be responsible for the AR function, raising invoices and chasing where needed as well as reconciling the aged debtors.
- To be responsible for reconciling the accrued/deferred revenue and releasing as and when invoices are raised to the customer.
- To be responsible for the reconciliation of the GRNI account and investigate any differences.
- IFS ERP System – learn the processes of our new ERP system, support will be given for this in order to understand how the system works and what is needed to ensure the system remains working and maintained.
- Assist with the year end audit and financial statements processes as required.
- Other finance related responsibilities and projects as they arise to support the success of the Finance function.
Qualifications and training
- Full or Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA - someone looking to complete their qualification.
Skills and experience
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Be able to learn and understand new processes and policies.
- Accuracy with attention to detail.
- The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel.
- Prior experience in a similar role.
