- Provide support to more senior colleagues by producing work without the need for basic amendments, and to agreed timescales.
- Proactively develop technical knowledge through a combination of workplace learning and formal study.
- Apply knowledge gained from each assignment across the entire client portfolio worked on.
- Use self-review and analytical review techniques to identify fundamental errors.
- Technical knowledge – have a good cross section knowledge across all key areas, bookkeeping, accounts, tax, and audit.
- Accounts – draft statutory accounts ready for review, prepare bank analyses and other basic reconciliations (VAT, PAYE etc.).
- Management Accounts – completion of draft management accounts and identification of areas of concern for the client, reconciles balance sheet figures in line with monthly processes, assistance with VAT returns and reconciliations of liabilities.
- Audits – assistance with substantive audit testing and other audit work, timely completion of write-ups relating to tests carried out.
- Taxation – preparation of basic corporation tax returns and associated schedules, understanding add backs and basic principles of disallowed expenditure, ability to deal with HMRC on the phone to discuss basic tax matters and ability to understand tax calculation from CCH in relation to source documentation, provided by client.
- Team Participation and Communication – attendance at client management meetings, keeping appropriate people up to date on exam progress, discuss basic queries with clients.
- A-level graduate with B-A* in Mathematics, Business Studies, Economics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Accounting, or similar subjects and looking to start your Accountancy career.

- Effective and clear communicator with the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- This is a full time, permanent role, Monday to Friday 9 am – 5 pm (37.5hrs).
- 20 days annual leave, plus bank holidays (and additional company and volunteering days), increasing to 25 days upon qualification.
