REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Assistant Controller
Summary Description of Role:
Parallax is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Accounting Team. This role will focus on the management company accounting which handles the operations of the firm.
The position will be an integral part of the accounting team, supporting the financial reporting of the funds and accounting functions of the management company. This role will work directly under Assistant Controller and also interact with other departments and will liaise with external parties such as the fund administrator and auditor.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Prepare monthly closing, true-up, cash rec, maintain all fund related G/L and vendor contracts.
- Reconcile commissions and exchange fees on executed option trades.
- Reconcile other fund related operating expenses, liaise with multiple parties in solving discrepancies.
- Process wires, ACHs and reconcile the transaction payments.
- Assist in preparing the monthly budget for the management company and master funds.
- Prepare quarterly and yearly business tax filings for the management company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting
- 3-5 years accounting experience; financial industry preferred by not required
- Must be a U.S citizen or authorized to work in the U.S on a permanent basis
- Willingness to travel to the San Francisco office every 4-5 weeks if remote
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to quickly learn and apply new software
- Basic knowledge of finance and investments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team player and strong work ethic
TECHNICAL ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of QuickBooks Online highly desired
- High proficiency in Excel
Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
