Job Description
The key responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant will be:
- Assist in the management of financial data by maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Support the maintenance of the general ledger by recording journal entries, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and assisting in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts by gathering relevant financial information, analysing data, and providing support in the budgeting process.
- Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation, assisting in audit procedures, and addressing audit queries related to financial records and processes.
- Collaborate with other departments, team members, and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, resolve discrepancies, and provide financial insights and support as needed.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will:
- Strong EXCEL skills
- Experience within the financial services industry preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
