Job Description

Please note - whilst our intention is for this to become a permanent role, initially it will be a 6 Month Fixed Term Position - in the Group Finance, Reporting and Taxation Team.
As a Financial Accountant, you will support the preparation of statutory accounts for group companies, ensuring compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP accounting standards. Collaboration with auditors and tax advisors will be crucial, providing requested information and producing necessary documentation. You will review and deliver audit and tax materials, as well as post year-end and audit journals.
Enhancing controls within the Finance team will be a key focus, conducting balance sheet reviews and reconciling management and statutory accounts. Documenting and monitoring existing controls, along with identifying opportunities for automation, will contribute to efficiency gains. Streamlining the ledger for statutory reporting and implementing control improvements will be part of your responsibilities.
Collaboration with finance teams on assigned projects, including financial reporting for business combinations and monthly group and tax reporting, will offer valuable exposure. Contributing to diverse aspects of finance will contribute to the overall success of the team.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to support statutory accounts and audit, improve controls, and engage in various projects, gaining experience in financial reporting, compliance, and process enhancement for the finance function's success.
Qualifications
Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or Newly Qualified
Experience in statutory accounts preparation or audit
Experience in controls improvement
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong Microsoft excel skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with colleagues of all levels and backgrounds
Ability to work as part of a team
SAP experience preferred, but not required
