About You
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual to the role of Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team.
You will possess a dedicated working style with the drive and enthusiasm and a proven track record working with the day-to-day finances of a busy organisation, with a particular focus on daily cash transfers and payments and month end tasks. The successful candidate will be working towards a chartered qualification (CIMA/ACCA) and will be supported and developed throughout their professional studies.
You will have experience in the rental sector, an understanding of basic accounting concepts and knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP accounting standards and principles, experience in the production of work to a tight deadline. A working knowledge of using Agresso, Qube and Salesforce is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
The Role
In recent years, McCarthy Stone has increased it’s offering of different tenures to give greater customer choice when making the move to one of our properties. We now offer options to fully rent our properties, part-buy part-rent options and shared ownership, both private and government backed. This role is part of the Multi-tenure finance team, which sits within the larger Group finance team and manages the finance side of these different tenure options.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily cash transfers and payments for client and business accounts
- Weekly cashbook postings and bank reconciliations
- Setting up financials of all new tenancies for the rental portfolio
- Arranging refunds for security deposits and overpaid rent to tenants
- Calculation of monthly rent collection and DD process
- Calculate and administer rent increases
- Preparation of rent arrears report and assisting with queries
This role can accommodate an agile working arrangement and you will be required to work 2-3 days a week in our Head Office in Bournemouth.
