An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Financial accountant to join Marie curie.
Title: Financial Accountant
Salary: £37,500 to £43,500 per annum depending on experience and London allowance if applicable
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Based: Hybrid working, Central London one day per week

Marie is Curie is the leading provider of end-of-life care in the UK. The impact of our existing services on people’s experience at end of life is significant. Last year, we helped more than 66,000 people with our services, including hospices, nursing services, helper and companion services, and 1.2 Million people through information and support online and print materials. 98% of the people we supported rate us highly.
The Financial Accounting and Operations department is expanding its shared services function working across Marie Curie to provide a comprehensive, cost-effective finance and procurement service to each area of the organisation, including our 9 hospices, nursing services, retail portfolio, fundraising and engagement and central services.
You will provide support for both the month end and year end accounting processes, statutory reporting and the annual audit for the c.£170m income charity, and its trading subsidiary. You will have a key role in the delivery of customer focussed efficient transaction processing within a robust control environment, as well as contributing towards taxes, gift aid and fixed assets provisions.
What we are looking for:
- You will be a credible financial accountant (CCAB qualified or qualified by experience), able to hold your own in a technical accounting environment.
- Significant experience in a medium or large organisation, ideally with experience in the not-for-profit or charity sectors.
- With excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to develop relationships with stakeholders.
