We’d like to welcome an Accounting Specialist I who will have the primary responsibility for performing a variety of accounting, administrative and operational tasks in an accurate and timely manner while acting as the primary front office posting teller for the accounting department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Assist with the daily balancing of the branches and credit union including preparation of the daily deposits and returned deposited items.
- Process incoming and outgoing wire requests from Members.
- Act as front office posting teller for the accounting department for returns, member inquires, and employee requests.
- Research member accounts when disputes arise and answer member inquiries accurately and timely.
- Post closed account activity to ChexSystems and the in-house Charge Off system.
- Assist with the balancing and distribution of the quarterly dividend checks and holiday club checks.
- Assist with the processing and collection of Member special collection items
- Assists with or completes researching and fulfilling all records requests from SSA Verifications, Levies and Subpoenas in a timely and accurate manner.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of college level accounting courses or equivalent accounting experience, preferably in a financial institution.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word.
- Must be accurate, organized, and efficient.
- Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of management, staff, members and vendors.
- Attention to detail a must.

PAY RANGE
Minimum: $20.43 Midpoint: $25.32 Maximum: $30.21
Above is the pay range for this position. Our pay ranges are designed to accommodate candidates with diverse skill sets and experience levels, as well as provide opportunities for growth and tenure within the role. For most candidates, new hire salaries usually fall within the minimum and midpoint range of the pay scale. However, any offer made to a candidate will be determined based on their specific qualifications, including their knowledge, skills, education and experience, as well as internal equity consideration.
Hours vary Mon - Fri 8:30 am - 6:00 pm. Some Saturdays may be required.
