We are delighted to be recruiting an FP&A Accountant for a brilliant business near Yate, Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Qualified, Part-Qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience candidate to work in a hybrid capacity for a market leader in the Engineering sector.
This role reports directly to the Head of FP&A and presents a rare opportunity to develop your career in commercial finance and more specifically- Financial Planning and Analysis.
This role supports the Head of FP&A and is responsible for consolidated financial reporting and analysis across the group, working to ensure that high quality financial data and analysis is delivered to the group management team in line with agreed timelines and formats. There are key working relationships with regional controllers, management accountants and project accountants in wider finance team and with group-level departmental managers within the operational team.
The role includes:
- Execute month-end and year-end closing activities for the consolidation of all group companies.
- Prepare robust consolidated financial forecasts for profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow, all supported by operational realities and understood by management and regional finance teams.
- Prepare and distribute high quality financial data to the group management team and regional finance teams to support overarching business processes and decision making.
- Liaise with the regional finance teams to achieve reporting objectives ensuring that:
- Status and submissions from regional teams is tracked and communicated to interested parties
- Risks to the close and reporting process are identified, communicated and managed
- Commentary and analysis is obtained to explain key variances
- Any adjustments made to reporting and forecasts at a group level is understood by the regional finance teams and pushed down into their local data
- Maintain robust balance sheet reconciliations for consolidation balances with identified necessary corrections actioned promptly
- Supporting Head of FP&A and Finance Managers for all areas of own responsibility to help drive continuous improvement and a transition to system-based processing, reporting and control, the data warehouse and reporting tools.
- Support Head of FP&A with ad hoc support on key initiatives.

This role would suit a Qualified or Part Qualified candidate who is diligent and able to travel to the office in a hybrid arrangement (3 days in the office and 2 from home). Strong Excel capability is a must, and someone with Microsoft Dynamics experience is desirable but not essential.
