The Position
KSW Lawyers is currently accepting applications for an Accountant. The Accountant will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will be primarily responsible for full-cycle accounting such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and GL & bank reconciliations. This is a full time position working between the hours of 9 to 5 in our Surrey office.
Requirements
- Reconciliations (bank, AR, AP, and General Ledgers)
- Preparation of financial statements
- Strong working knowledge of Excel
- 2-4 years experience in a similar role preferably in a law firm
- strong analytical skills
- good financial acumen
- a positive attitude with a good sense of humour
- works well with other with a teamwork mentality
- good work ethic
- CPA candidate or similar education
Responsibilities
- Perform and review monthly accounting reconciliations
- Process Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, and Cheque Requests
- Preparation of various productivity and financial reports
- Work with banks on day to day transactions including setting up and managing signing authorities and completing other forms and agreements as required
- Help establish, monitor, and enhance accounting policies and procedures as needed
- Help organize and maintain annual budget process
- Assist with accounting software support for other legal staff
- Support the accounting and billing groups as necessary.
- Use daily reconciliation report to resolve discrepancies and exceptions.
- Provide ad-hoc data relating to accounting and billing activities as requested
- Set up, maintain, and update timekeeper billing rates, minimum fixed fees, GS fees as needed
- Other duties as assigned
