The Role
We are looking for an experienced and energized accounting professional to be an integral member of the regional finance and accounting team. Reporting to the Regional and/or Corporate Controller this role will have responsibility to support the accounting function for multiple sites in the network while providing other ad-hoc accounting and finance support services, including assisting onboarding and transition of new sites to the network. The role will ensure a strong internal control environment and compliance with company policies and US GAAP.
- Assists Regional or Corporate Controller and other team members with the management of the monthly accounting and reporting process for multiple sites and a growing number of clinical studies
- Creates journal entries for multiple sites to support the full accrual accounting cycle for multiple sites
- Preform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and assist in the monthly close
- Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts
- Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
- Maintain ongoing reconciliations between the AR sub-system and the general ledger
- Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
- Ensure local reporting requirements are maintained on a timely basis
- Financial analysis as required to support the business
- Maintain and manage the fixed asset module, including performance of an annual physical inventory
- Manage the Accounts Payable function including compliance with the annual 1099 process
- Provide support for audit, tax, and other information requests
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with non-accounting professionals
Education and Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP accounting, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting
- At least five years of related accounting or finance experience
