POSITION OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with full cycle accounting experience. Your proven experience with AP, AR, journal entries and superior knowledge in MS Excel will serve you well in this role. This position requires a person to take initiative in problem solving and recommend solutions. As such, multi-tasking, prioritizing, and organization are crucial for success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accounts Payable- Ensure timeliness and completeness in processing vendor invoices, inquiries, and payment cycles.
- Accounts Receivable – Invoice customers, deposits, holdbacks, stat declarations, and collections
- Prepare monthly credit cards, expense report journal entries.
- Perform journal entries, including month-end reconciliations (bank, prepaids, capital assets, accruals). Reconcile general ledger to subledger for AR and AP.
- Revenue recognition review and associated journal entries
- Process payroll and record journal entries
- Prepare government filings (WCB, GST, CRA)
- Financial and variance analysis, prepare monthly reporting for labour, project costing, and general administration spending.
- Assist in development and preparation of department reporting.
- Other duties that may be delegated or required from time to time at the direction of management.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in full cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing and financial analysis. Working in a construction environment is an asset.
- Proven experience working in financial modules of an ERP software. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with minimal support.
- Must have excellent computer skills and advanced knowledge of all MS Office Suite programs, particularly Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, graphs etc).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Must be detail oriented, highly organized and have a consistent track record to multi-task and complete tasks on time.
- A solid ability to be both a leader and teammate.
- Comfortable working in an open office setting
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
