Grafton Banks Finance is recruiting a Financial Accountant for a large, respected and expanding financial services business in Redhill. The role can be based remotely two days per week and three days in the office. The position requires the individual to be fully or nearly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with confident reconciliations skills and strong excel capabilities to include formulars – vlook ups, sum ifs etc
Reporting to the Head of Reporting you will take responsibility for:
- Review and approve complex financial activities for various lines of business including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Conduct a detailed review for accuracy and completeness and approve internal management based financial reporting, both routine and ad hoc for complete and consistent results with corporate policies and standards.
- Preparation, submission and payment of foreign and local insurance taxes
- Preparation, submission, account reconciliation and payment of insurance levies and smaller regulatory returns
- Assist with corporation tax compliance
- Perform and review financial controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Identify and maximise tools to obtain data necessary to support financial analysis and create financial transactions.
- Responsibilities may include extracting and analysing data.
- Prepare and review more complex documentation to support Internal and External Audits. May interact with internal and external auditors.
- Lead projects that involve complex analysis and implementation of non-complex, routine business and financial regulatory changes relating to financial reporting. For example, business reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions, new accounting standards, etc.
- Maintain compliance with various financial external regulatory requirements and internal accounting policies.
- Apply basic accounting and financial concepts and controls to support the development, implementation or enhancement to financial systems and processes.
This role is varied and requires someone with an inquisitive mind to analyse data and check for variances in what has been reported. There are also various ongoing projects to get involved in.
