Job description
Elmsdale Landscaping Ltd., a dynamic , well-established and growing family-owned business located in Elmsdale, N.S. is currently seeking a Junior Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant will perform a wide range of financial and related duties, for Elmsdale Landscaping Ltd. and the related companies in our corporate group.
Primary Duties and responsibilities:
Assist with Accounts Payable entry and payments as required.
Preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis.
Assist with monthly financial statement preparations in a timely manner.
Prepare year -end files and analysis of balance sheet accounts.
Maintain fixed asset files and records.
Assist with Accounts Receivable payment postings and invoicing as required.
Prepare various government forms as required, such as HST, surveys, etc.
Various other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in accounting with a Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration, or equivalent.
Working towards a Professional Accounting Designation would be considered an asset.
Minimum of three years of accounting experienc.
Strong knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organizational and time management skills to handle a busy work environment.
Ability to communicate in a professional manner with customers and all levels of staff.
Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently, with confidentiality and professionalism.
Elmsdale Landscaping Ltd. has been providing customers in Nova Scotia and other Maritime provinces with landscaping products and services, and trucking services for over 60 years. Salary: $52,000.00-$63,000.00 per year
