Job Title: Global Securities Finance Accountant
Job Type: Contract (6 months)
Location: London (Hybrid - at least 2 days in the office)
Salary: up to 750 per day PAYE
Resource Solutions has a fantastic opportunity for a Global Securities Accountant to join our client, a leading Dutch bank in their London office. My client prides themselves on providing excellent customer service and being sustainability pioneers.
Role Objective: This role is within the Financial Markets (FM) Financial Control team and is focussed on the supporting the local Global Securities Financing (GSF) ledger. The GSF business covers Equity Linked Swaps, Stock Borrowing / Lending trading, and there is additionally a small number of structured trades and some limited equity sales trading activity on this ledger.
Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to the head office in Amsterdam.
- Monthly Financial Reporting and Regulatory reporting to the head office in Amsterdam.
- Provision of advice to the Front Office on accounting and related matters.
- Handling of queries from internal/external auditors, including preparation of quarter-end and year-end working papers.
- Performing/reviewing monthly balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
- Working closely with reconciliations and control specialist to ensure the completeness and accuracy.
- Liaising with Market Risk / Product Control to ensure completeness and accuracy of the ledger.
- Ensuring controls are maintained in line with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Dealing with ad hoc issues and queries.
- Supporting the implementation of the new ledger (AAH) through performing UAT, reviewing results and being an integral part of the project team.
- Maintaining a close working relationship with all relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Fully qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA, etc.
- Financial Accounting / Control experience
- Excellent MS Excel Skills
- Knowledge of Securities Financing
- Experience of working in a large Financial Institution preferable.
- Previous experience with the Oracle Fusion / OFSAA products
- Experience in finance related projects
