Job Title: Accounting Assistant
Job Summary: The Accounting Assistant provides an array of functions to the Finance team, including but not limited to: managing financial documents, filing, data entry, data collection, payroll and other administrative tasks.
Reports To: Divisional Controller
Location: 2555 Grasswood Road East, English River First Nation #192J; adjacent to Saskatoon, SK.
Key Responsibilities:
- General bookkeeping and accounting.
- Handle large volumes of transactions preferably in a retail environment.
- Calculate, prepare, data entry, and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements using computerized and manual systems.
- Code, total, batch, enter, verify, and reconcile transactions.
- Payroll processing for multiple companies.
- All other duties as requested by the General Accountant and/or Divisional Controller.
Education and Experience:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Sage 300 accounting software is an asset.
- Excellent coordination, organization, and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to professionally relate and converse with various stakeholders.
- Working toward an accounting certificate, diploma, or degree is considered an asset.
Capabilities:
- Must have the ability to work under pressure situations.
- Must be able to meet deadlines as they arise.
- Ability to be discreet and handle confidential information on a day-to-day basis.
- Ability to deal with shifting priorities in a high workload.
- Environment. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail required.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Take initiative, be proactive, be solution orientated and innovative.
