WORKING HOURS – Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours per week (Hybrid working, 2-3 days per week in the office)

What will you be doing:
You’ll be responsible for the preparation and/or review of the annual statutory financial statements in addition to supporting in the quarterly dividend cycle for the UK and various legal entities within the EMEA region (which may include Belgium, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, (in addition to any other future expansion), in line with the relevant governing accounting principles. (FRS102/IFRS). Ensuring compliance in line with internal policies and procedures at all times, as well as supporting in the annual internal and external audit cycles as required for the above entities.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
- To support in the preparation and/or review of annual statutory accounts for entities within the EMEA region in line with the relevant governing laws, accounting principles and regulations. (Companies Act/FRS102/IFRS)
- To work with the Corporation Tax manager/Tax accountant to ensure tax provisions and tax related disclosures are appropriately included within the statutory financial statements
- To assist as required with the annual internal and external audit reviews for all entities within the EMEA region
- To be responsible for ensuring the local GAAP adjustments are booked into the secondary ledger for entities already transitioned to Oracle, (plus any future entities transitioned) ensuring this reconciles back to the submitted financial statements after each annual cycle and ahead of the close of the next financial period.
- To assist the Statutory Reporting manager in tracking the regions statutory reporting requirements and progress by keeping the compliance tracking portal up to date
- To work with local controllers and advisors on any potential further roll out of the statutory reporting software to bring additional legal entities financial statements into the software
- To support other members of the wider Tax and treasury team with statutory compliance related questions
- Working alongside Treasury and Legal, to support in the review of cash and reserves availability quarterly and calculate proposed dividends for the EMEA region, including preparing relevant supporting schedules to enable board approval of such dividends.
- Assistance as required with the implementation of new financial systems such as Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics across the two divisions of the business.
- Any other ad hoc accounting and compliance related duties as required
What skills and experience should you have?
You’ll be either ACCA or ACA qualified, have direct experience in the preparation of statutory accounts and related disclosures from trail balance to complete reports (ideally in large company accounts) and also have working knowledge of UK GAAP.
To be successful in this position, you must be able to operate in a dynamic and changing environment, manage multiple deadlines, display a high level of professionalism and organisational skills, maintain confidentiality as necessary and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
You’ll have good knowledge of MS Office packages including excel, have a high level of attention to detail and be able to participate in a multi-cultural, multi-linguistic environment.
