Job description
To provide a quality Accountancy Service to our customers in line with the Service Level Agreement or any individual contract.
To ensure that all customers receive good value for money from the resources they have available.
Client Support
- Director of Finance and Legal/Client support (as and when required).
- Directorate support (as and when required).
Management
- Attend service team and staff team meetings.
- To provide support to the Finance Manager and Senior Principal Accountants as and when required.
- To recognise changes in the service and identify personal training requirements to accommodate this.
- To document all work based procedures relating to this post.
Others
- To provide guidance to budget holders on the budget management process
- To prepare and update the documentation required for the annual budget review process.
- To co-ordinate and prepare the annual budget for Budget Holders.
- To prepare Finance Paragraphs for Decision Sheets and Committee Reports.
- To be directly responsible for the provision of strategic financial advice and guidance to a number of budget holders.
- To actively participate in the closure of accounts.
- To ensure the completion of all relevant grant claims, statistical returns and performance indicators.
- To liaise with all other Accountancy teams.
- To liaise with the Authority’s external auditor in respect of all areas of work relevant to the team.
- To do anything else commensurate with the post holder’s level of training and experience and conducive to fulfilment of the job purpose outlined above.

Salary: £180.00-£185.00 per day
