CPA accounting firm located in New Westminster is seeking a full-time Intermediate Accountant / Bookkeeper.
The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work on a variety of assignments, often independently. The candidate's primary role will be to maintain complete and accurate accounting records and contribute to the organization's financial reporting while meeting deadlines.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of accounting experience working in public practice in Canada as well as good knowledge of financial accounting and account reconciliation.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with Quickbooks Desktop, QBO Online, Excel, and Word
- Experience in GST, PST, WCB, EHT, and Payroll
- Proficient in fundamentals of accounting including credits, debits, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Excellent communication skills
- General office administration including reception and filing
- Participating in the preparation of year-end financial
- Ability to take direction but act with initiative and self-motivation to meet deadlines and responsibilities
- Strong planning, follow up and ability to prioritize and multi-task are necessary
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- A high degree of accuracy
DUTIES:
Provide bookkeeping services to clients using Quickbooks, QBO, and Simply Accounting
Prepare client bookkeeping records, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
Preparation of government remittances GST, PST, Payroll, T4, T5, WCB, and ROE.
Payroll and Monthly Source Deductions
Quarterly and Annual WCB Reports
Prepare Financial Statements
Prepare Corporate tax returns
Minimum 2-year experience in public practice in Canada
Diploma or degree in Accounting (or currently enrolled in a program)

Salary: $44,000.00-$58,000.00 per year
