Job description
We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper/ VAT Clerk to join our busy accountancy practice. The ideal candidate will come from an accountancy practice background with at least 1 year’s experience, and will be used to working with various accounting software such as Sage, Quickbooks, Xero, and Kashflow.
We are an established accountancy practice who provide the full array of accounting services including bookkeeping, payroll services, preparing accounts for limited companies and sole traders as well as personal tax returns and VAT returns. This position would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper/VAT Clerk who is looking for a fresh start in a new and challenging position.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:15pm. We are a family friendly practice and understand work/life balance. We have built a team of people who work together towards one aim of servicing our clients to the highest standards.
Typical day to day duties:
- preparing VAT returns
- resolving client VAT queries
- posting invoices onto software
- reconciling bank on software
- VAT administration
- Assisting clients in the use of various software packages
- ad-hoc duties as required
- Client bookkeeping
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- minimum 1 year’s experience of VAT experience
- AAT qualification would be advantageous
- previous experience with Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, Kashflow and office management software like Microsoft Office (at least Word and Excel)
- strong organisation skills with a problem-solving attitude
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £20,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
