Job description
Looking for Timber Frame Trainees (specific trade within Carpentry) who are willing to follow the new STA (Structural Timber Association) route towards gaining an NVQ in Structural Timber Frame Erection. You will ned a CSCS card (industry standard to allow access to construction sites) which we can help arrange if you don't currently have. We are not currently looking for applicants who wish to follow the college block release / Apprentice route or do a full Carpentry NVQ. If you already have a Carpentry NVQ / similar we are still interested in hearing from you.
Expected Areas of site-based work: Bedfordshire, London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent
Own transport is essential - must have driving license and own car. Can accept young workers who do not yet have driving license who will use public transport to begi nwith in rare cases...
Apprentice / Trainee day rate in line with NMW and age-dependent, approx. £45 - £75 per day whilst you learn the trade. Travel can be subsidised for longer trips when agreed to. You will be working with and learning from experienced carpenters & timber frame erectors on site 5 days a week and working through training booklets to gain experience and evidence for NVQ. A great opportunity to learn a trade hands-on rather than in a classroom.

Site specific and based on Gov guidance. COVID Risk Assessment will need to be signed up to however majority of work is outdoors which limits the precautions required. Communal and indoor areas advise masks, as per current guidance.
