Job description

Accounting:

  • Deposits and cash receipts in the accounting system
  • Assistance with bank and account reconciliations
  • Assistance with preparation and posting of month-end and quarter-end journal entries
  • Regular reporting, as required
  • Allocation of employee expenses across general ledger accounts and reconciliation to the payroll summary.

Billing:

  • Processing company’s invoices in an accurate and timely manner
  • Uploading invoices into customer portals
  • Coordination of billing with managers to ensure that all required back-up is provided and attached
  • Credit reference checks.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Contacting customers for all overdue invoices, as well as send regular account statements
  • Managing the Accounts Receivable aging report
  • Assistance with the Accrued Liabilities account.

Other Duties:

  • Office supply orders
  • Other duties as required. Given the dynamics in the department, the set of duties may be very flexible.

Education:

  • University or College degree/diploma in accounting/bookkeeping
  • Enrollment in CPA professional designation courses is highly appreciated.

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in an accounting role involving journal entries, account reconciliations and month-end closing.

Required Skills:

  • Attention to detail, organized, takes initiative, excellent communication skills are key to this position
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
  • Must be polite, courteous and professional
  • Customer oriented and comfortable using the telephone
  • Proficient with MS Office, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Ability to quickly learn company accounting software (Intuitive 9.0)
  • Strong organization skills.

Working Conditions:

Minimum 37.5 hours per week – may require extra hours during month end and quarterly reporting periods.
