About The Role
The Assistant Accountant will play an integral role in cost control and Financial Control. Reporting into the Group FP&A Manager, the role will provide robust accounting, reporting, insight and forecasting to help the business understand performance and make sound decisions.
This role is for a fixed term period of 12 months on a full time basis, with a hybrid working pattern of 2/3 days a week working from home and in our state-of-the-art head office in Hull.

Key responsibilities include:
- Completing month end accounts for the cost centres owned within this role
- Assisting the Group FP&A Manager with the monthly financial accounting and reporting process
- Ensuring the production, delivery, understanding and presentation of insightful financial analysis
- Acting as a business partner to budget holders, providing support and challenge on costs
- Supporting the forecasting and budgeting process
- Supporting the external audit process
- Working in collaboration across Finance and Group functions
- Contributing to a wide range of projects and initiatives as required
- Supporting the Finance Transformation workstream by helping with process simplification and reducing manual processes

About you:
The ideal Assistant Accountant will be/have:
- Part Qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent accountancy qualifications
- Experience of Management Accounts, Financial Planning & Analysis and process improvement
- Good communicator
- Strong Excel and IT skills (SAP experience preferred)
- Motivated to take ownership of own work and seek further responsibility
- Business partnering or stakeholder management experience
