The opportunity:
We are currently looking for an Accounts Assistant. In this role you will gain diverse experience, primarily within the Financial Reporting Team, assisting in the preparation of the management accounts, statutory accounts and regulatory returns. As our Team collates and analyses figures from across various group companies, it allows the individual to gain business wide knowledge as well as technical experience in accounting for insurance and non insurance companies. In addition, we provide support to other areas of finance and business projects as needed.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts for a number of Group Companies.
- Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts.
- Assist in the completion of monthly IFRS information for submission to Group Head Office.
- Lend SAP support for our Isle of Man based users.
- More widely support the finance department, including current projects.
- Preparing, reviewing and investigating variances on reconciliations.
Your skills and experience:
- Experience within a finance role is preferable.
- Working towards a relevant accounting qualification (CAT, AAT or ACCA) would be an advantage, but is not essential.
- Good PC skills including working knowledge of MS Office.
- Previous experience with SAP is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- An ability to prioritise tasks and deliver results within tight deadlines.
- An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
