An exciting and varied opportunity to join a growing SME business within the Leeds area for a 12 month Contract Accounts Assistant. This is a fixed 12 month contract role as Accounts Assistant and the salary offered is £24 000 to £28 000 (depending on experience). The successful candidate will be part of a long standing, experienced finance team, and will have the chance to work with this winning team. The Temporary Accounts Assistant will assist and work directly with the Finance Director and will primarily be responsible for the purchase and sales ledger functions alongside carrying out credit control duties. Close attention to detail, honesty and integrity are essential for this role.
Key responsibilities for the successful Temporary Accounts Assistant will include:
- Matching, batching and coding purchase invoices
- Carrying out supplier statement reconciliations and supporting with the payment runs
- Setting up new suppliers
- Raising sales ledger invoices and allocating outstanding monies to the ledger
- Chasing payments on a daily basis both over the phone and via email
- Managing credit limits and negotiating on payment plans
- Processing expenses and managing petty cash
- Preparing online banking payments as required
We are keen to speak with candidates who have previous experience in a fast-paced finance role, you may be a Accounts Administrator or Finance Administrator looking to progress.
To be successful in this Temporary Accounts Assistant role you will ideally have/be:
- Immediately available or on a short notice period
- Be happy to commit to the 12 month contract work and will be reliable
- Previous experience of a busy, varied transactional finance role or will have purchase ledger experience
- A hands on approach and will be happy to help in all areas of accounts when needed
- Strong attention to detail and will be able to meet multiple deadlines under strict deadlines
- Computer literate and have experience using MS Excel
