Division: The Biosciences Division (BID) is a $5.3 billion business with 6,500+ employees around the world. A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Thermo Fisher Scientific for a Biosciences Sales Representative to manage the London-Northeast (Francis Crick Institute and Queen Mary University of London.
You would be responsible for driving growth in our consumables portfolio - protein, cell and molecular biology (Invitrogen, Gibco & Applied Biosystems). This will also include selected equipment relating to the consumables portfolio to include endpoint PCR equipment, fluorescent microscopes and flow cytometers and various other small benchtop laboratory equipment.
This role requires an individual with a consistent track record in sales and a deep technical understanding combined with the ability to empathise and resolve customer issues.
Increase & generate sales to customers via onsite visits following up with calls and email correspondence
Participate in sales training programmes as presented by the company to develop appropriate selling skills
Develop, write, and implement a strategic business plan for running the assigned territory annually, updated quarterly
Working with marketing and/or technical sales specialists for supply agreements and contracts
Set up and coordinate technical seminars, and host and assist with product shows on a biannual and annual basis
Maintain and increase current customer database through company customer relations management software (Salesforce CRM).
Communicate key competitor activities, trends, and changing customer development plans and priorities, which includes emerging customers
BSc in biology, molecular biology or biochemistry (PhD preferred), or the equivalent knowledge
Ssales experience with in-depth knowledge of cell culture or molecular biology is preferred
Experience of Invitrogen and Applied Biosystems products
Experience of working within a lab and life science consumables associated
- Proven customer/quality orientation
- Public speaking and presentation skills
- Capable of taking the initiative, prioritizing and seeking support when needed.
