Job Overview
As a member of the sales team, reporting to the Back to Base Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the management of back to base sales in specific industries where we do business. This involves understanding customer needs and proposing an appropriate software solution to fit their business.
You will be responsible for visiting, calling and video conferences to customers on a regular basis, developing a strong and mutually beneficial relationship and delivering efficient customer service.
Working closely with the marketing team to ensure an up-to-date pipeline is maintained and targeted with campaigns. Attending relevant trade shows will also be required to connect with new and existing business prospects.
You will be targeted on the delivery of sales and will receive both commission and bonuses for meeting target, in addition to your basic salary. To achieve this, you will need to understand the operation and benefits of our market-leading Dealership Management Solution, as well as the additional products and services that we offer to our customer base. This requires you to be dedicated, enthusiastic, fast learning and have or develop knowledge about business processes such as inventory management, sales order processing, purchase order processing and the principles of bookkeeping.
As an Account Manager, you will be a link between sales and other departments in the business. You will have a keen interest in supporting the product and development teams with new initiatives. Where required, you will support the handover of new products to other members of the sales team in time for product launches.
Key Responsibilities
· Managing our Scottish and Irish territories for back to base customers: this includes customers in the different industries that we serve. Sales targets will be set each year for the expected growth for this territory
· Occasionally in this role you will be expected to help identify prospects to pass onto the Business Development Manager
· You will work with the marketing team on existing and new campaigns as well as supporting new initiatives for our website and other relevant channels to reach our target market
· Attend relevant trade shows as well as conferences and events to maximise the opportunity of connecting with prospects and existing customers
· Travel throughout your territory which may include occasional travel to businesses and prospects outside of the UK and Ireland
· Work closely with the product and development teams on new initiative projects as well as all new products to ensure we collaborate at an early stage through to launch of new products
· Have a strong knowledge of the products features and benefits and where required help to produce sales related literature
· Produce and deliver training to other sales team members on relevant projects.
· Collaborate with all departments to ensure we find the best solution for Ibcos and our customers including involvement in price reviews of products and services
· Work closely with the Back to Base Sales Manager on new projects including best practices for the sales team
· Build territory plans with details for managing existing customers
· Become involved in ad-hoc tasks as required
Accountabilities
· Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets
· Plan account strategies for allocated customers
· Maintain regular contact with allocated accounts
· Attend and contribute to regular sales meetings
· Provide status and progress reports to the Back to Base Sales Manager
· Deliver a prompt and courteous service to customers
· Escalate critical or strategic issues to the Back to Base Sales Manager and Sales Director
· Adhere to the defined sales process
Qualifications Required
Essential – Educated to A level or equivalent experience
Experience Required
Essential - Experience as an Account Manager or similar role within the software industry selling either ERP or DMS.
Essential - Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including customer calls)
Essential - Proven track record of achieving sales targets
Essential - Experience with CRM software and ability to adapt to new systems
Essential - Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Desirable - Familiarity with MS Excel (analysing spreadsheets and charts)
Desirable - Understanding of sales performance metrics
Desirable - Ability to deliver engaging presentations
Suitable for someone who…
Has proven experience in a field sales environment with a proven track record in achieving sales targets. Has the ability to form new relationships with customers using methods including visits and phone calls. The ability to sell the benefits of a DMS including the value proposition and return on investment. Self-starter who can set and achieve goals with the ability to work to a long-term strategy. There will be a requirement to travel, therefore a current clean driving licence is required. Able to work autonomously, with minimal supervision and be an excellent time manager who can work strategically.

Salary: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
