Salary: From £28,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience plus an excellent commission structure paid at 35% of basic salary
Contract: Permanent and fixed term positions available
Location: Hybrid - flexibility to work from home or at any of our main hubs (London, Bristol, Manchester and Harwell)

This fantastic opportunity sits within the commercial services division who are responsible for bringing in £6M a year for the Student Services Directorate. Education recruitment advertising services is responsible for delivering income from University members promoting postgraduate study opportunities to an international student audience (approx. £1.46M).
About the role:
As an account manager, you own the relationship between Prospects and your portfolio of accounts. You should seek opportunities to maximise and grow Prospects business through making the most of leads to sell new and existing products from across the Prospects portfolio.
- Be available to senior representatives of membership organisations as the principal point of contact with respect to all Prospects products and services
- Conduct campaign reviews and relationship management activities with members in respect to the organisational consumption of Prospects products and services
- Build effective strategic relationships with members, gaining an understanding of their specific business needs to drive our growth through enhanced service usage and new sales opportunities
- Achieve allocated annual sales target by generating revenue from accounts that are already spending money with us and develop additional business with new prospective accounts through targeted and proactive sales.
Specifically:
o own the relationship with each allocated account and to routinely inform, influence and persuade via face to face/virtual presentation models
o identify and explore member needs via effective questioning, seeking opportunities to cross-and up-sell
o deliver according to a sales plan that drives new income
o deliver an analytical approach to relationship building and account development
o identify buying points in the organisation that may not be currently purchasing from us
o examine product or service penetration for each account, acting accordingly to increase product uptake and usage
Your role is to engage with senior leaders and influencers in member organisations (UK universities) and media buying agencies to gain insight into their needs and position Prospects as a preferred partner.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Working alongside other account managers as a field-based worker, you will be comfortable with building relationships in a remote environment.
- Strong account management skills and a demonstrable track record of exceeding targets is required
- Experience of strong B2B sales – both new business and account management are essential
- You will be a team player, able to function at a high level within the context of your team, as well as being strongly motivated to operate using your own initiative.
- You will manage your own workload to achieve targets although team working is encouraged to achieve objectives.
- You are required to operate flexibly across a large and often diverse geography and membership/customer base. We value interaction with other teams across Jisc to build internal relationships to provide the best for our members and customers.
- Ability to close new business and manage sales through a pipeline Lead generation
