This is an outstanding opportunity to join our team as an Account Manager for the B2B division within Inspired Online schools. This is a newly created position that is a result of our significant growth in our Alternative Provision (AP) offer over the last two years and the emergence of some larger key and strategic accounts.
Reporting to the Head of UK Business Development, this new role will be responsible for retaining and growing a portfolio of large clients (schools, trusts, local authority regions), implementing and delivering our B2B business development strategy for Alternative Provision (AP) in the UK.
The Role
As part of the Inspired Online B2B team, you will be responsible for retaining and developing strategic accounts for Alternative Provision (AP) within your region. This will include:
- Developing and implementing the account plan for your strategic clients
- Conducting research, acquiring information and generating ideas to drive sales and tactical marketing initiatives.
- Effective handling of client issues, requests and enquiries
- Accurately forecasting sales and growth based on business opportunities
- Developing effective working relationships at all levels with Local Authorities, Multi Academy Trusts and Schools
- Identifying and progressing partnership opportunities with LA’s, MATs and Schools
- Supporting and driving Local Authority tenders including submissions relating to procurement frameworks
- Presenting regular performance data for the B2B team and line manager
- Adhering to company policies and procedures
- Ensuring delivery of sales targets in line with company objectives and financial plans
- Supporting and contributing to marketing planning and fulfilment of local, regional and national campaigns
- Attending and presenting at conferences and exhibitions
- Maintaining and updating CRM (Dynamics) with all lead and contract conversions in accordance with the company’s defined new business and account management processes
- Reviewing and managing contract performance/management with local authority procurement teams
- Supporting ongoing quality assurance processes for each client.
The Candidate
The Account Manager will have a degree, NVQ level 5 or similar relevant qualification, ideally with proven key account management and client service experience in the B2B service sector.
Experience of the education or edtech industry is not essential but desirable. The ideal candidate will have the ability to identify growth opportunities and retain and develop strategic and key accounts.
Specifically, you will have: –
- Business development experience in a high growth, tech-driven industry with a proven track record of key account management
- Evidence of success in building strong relationships with stakeholders and decision-makers in key/strategic accounts through added-value consultative engagements and commitment to client service.
- Developed listening skills, with the ability to translate customer requirements into product and service specifications and deliverables.
- Strong analytical skills, with good attention to detail, enabling a valuable contribution to decisions relating to the development of Inspired Online Schools’ offering in the marketplace.
- Good understanding of the edtech space and how existing and emerging technologies can be incorporated into education.
- A flexible, highly energetic approach and the ability to thrive in a business with a fast changing and collaborative delivery culture.
- Confidence to communicate to and engage with key internal and external stakeholders across the client organisation.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to form good relationships both internally and externally with respective customers and partners.
- The ability to work independently, remotely and collaboratively with other team members and Inspired Education colleagues where appropriate.
