The Manchester Accommodation Business Improvement District (ABID) is a ground-breaking new initiative led by the city’s hotel and serviced apartment providers to help create new events and additional activities that will attract more people to visit and stay in Manchester and Salford. It will also contribute to the enhancement of overall guest experience and help to expand the city’s visitor economy by:
- amplifying marketing campaigns that drive overnight stays;
- securing large-scale events, conferences, and festivals in low-season months;
- improving guest welcome and street cleanliness.
Manchester Accommodation Business Improvement District Limited has a new vacancy for an ABID Executive to work on the newly established Accommodation Business Improvement District (ABID) in central Manchester.
Key Responsibilities:
- To support the ABID Manager with the development, co-ordination, and delivery of the range of ABID workstreams on time and on budget, to ensure that the outputs are delivered, working with external bodies and partners
- Co-ordinate business reports and KPIs and other management reports and presentations as required for both internal and external groups and meetings
- To co-ordinate key meetings including the ABID Board, working closely with senior level stakeholders including arranging regular meetings and all communications
- To administer aspects of financial processing and budgets
- Establishment of mechanisms to collate and report KPIs and impacts of activity
- Working with people at all levels internally and externally, including Hotel General Managers and Senior Managers.
About You:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a busy marketing or tourism office is essential (however, candidates with less than this number of years’ experience, who can demonstrate the necessary skills, will be considered)
- Good all-rounder – ideal for someone with a Personal/Executive Assistant background looking for a new challenge
- Experience of managing a varied workload to competing deadlines
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Experience of working with people at all levels and managing partnerships and stakeholders would be an advantage.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of the Manchester tourism product and sector, and national tourism structures and agencies (leisure and business tourism).
- Knowledge and understanding of public and private sector environments, pressures, and challenges
- Must be adaptable, able to manage a portfolio of simultaneous projects and activities, in line with identified deadlines
- Project management skills
- Ability to manage budgets
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Up to £24,000.00 per year
