ABOUT US
Transforming Lives Through Excellent Education
London Met is an extraordinary institution. Equity and social inclusion have
always been our driving principles, and it's what makes the University so
unique. Our organisation is distinctive, both in its eclectic and diverse
community of students and staff, and also for its historical role in serving
some of London's most deprived boroughs. Everything we do is
underpinned by our philosophy that an individual should have the
opportunity to transform their life through the power of education.
Equipping our students with the tools for their future is at the heart of our
academic offering. We pride ourselves on providing our students with
access to a wealth of opportunities and professions. Our graduates benefit
personally, but also contribute their unique perspectives to society, culture,
public service and the economy in all areas of London, the UK and around
the world.
ABOUT THE POST
Our team of Academic Mentors provide academic support to all the
undergraduate and postgraduate students in the School. We have a
number
of niche business courses, such as, fashion marketing, music business,
digital business management, as well as the larger business management
and accountancy courses in the School. A number of our postgraduate
courses recruit large numbers on international students who would
benefit from academic support that is targeted at postgraduate level.
This post requires that the postholder will provide academic support to
our postgraduate students, many of who are international students and
whose first language is not English.
Do you want to join us on the next part of our exciting journey as one
of the UK's most socially-inclusive and diverse universities? We are
particularly interested in enthusiastic and experienced individuals who
are dedicated to providing students with the academic support to law
students need in order to help them succeed with their studies. The
postholder will be required to offer support across the School to
postgraduate students, but some support will also be offered to
undergraduate students. The postholder will be expected to have
experience in coaching and mentoring students to enhance their
performance and improve their study skills.
