As the Coordinator of IT Academic Support, you will lead a team that provides IT technical support within labs and classrooms to support the delivery of NAIT’s academic curriculum. With a blend of technical expertise and effective leadership, you will contribute to strategy development, maintain IT technologies, and foster productive stakeholder communication, all while promoting staff development and technical proficiency in a dynamic educational setting.
This position reports directly to the Manager of IT Service Delivery within the Department of Information and Technology Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision of the work-unit, including such activities as; the development of work plans and resource planning (i.e. absence, vacation)
- The management and tracking of operating budgets
- Maintaining computing technology and audio visual equipment within NAIT labs and classrooms
- Assignment and monitoring of tickets within our service management system
- The ability to keep abreast of industry trends, technology changes, and their application to NAIT’s business objectives
- Regular communication with internal and external stakeholders is required at various levels of the organization
- Key resource for the development of process, procedures, and strategy concerning end-user computing devices and services related to NAIT academic support with a focus on labs and classrooms
- Supporting academic curriculum delivery with technical services
Skills & Abilities:
- Effective leadership skills
- Strong communications skills and an ability to communicate and organize ideas in a clear and concise way
- Effective listening
- Coaching to guide skill and career development in supervised staff
- Ability to present technical information to groups of users
- Experience administering Windows and Apple computer environments
- Familiarity with audio visual setup and maintenance
Qualifications:
- Information technology related Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma (with related experience)
- Several years of experience in an Information technology field (5+ years)
- Previous experience in a leadership role
- Some leadership training would be an asset
Remuneration: $3,322.63 - $4,402.08 biweekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
