About The Role
Job title: Trainee Mammographer
Salary: Competitive
Hours: Monday-Friday on a local rota. Full and part time vacancies available.
Location: Jarvis Centre, Guildford, Surrey
Introduction:
The Surrey and North East Hampshire (Jarvis) Breast Screening Service (BSS) has an eligible population of approximately 180,000 women who are invited to screening over a 3-year screening round. The static breast screening unit which is currently located at the Jarvis Breast Centre provides an invaluable community screening and assessment service.
What you will do:
As an InHealth Mammographer you will provide a high-quality imaging service to all users of the service and screen women for breast cancer by mammography. You will participate in assessment clinics including stereotactic biopsies and participate in the support of development of assistant practitioners.
**You will have the opportunity to undertake fully funded Advanced Practice Training**
What you are responsible for:
- Supporting the business in the delivery of the NHSBSP National Programme
- Being a Line Manager for Radiographic Assistants in the Hub Department
- Being a clinical and professional lead for the radiographic aspects of the service provided by the Jarvis
- Practicing radiographer lead by example to provide a high level of technical skill and ensure a caring and individual experience for the client
- Having a knowledge of all systems of work, policies and procedures which support the organization to maintain efficiency.
We are looking for someone who has:
- The ability to listen and communicate effectively, using a variety of methods bearing in mind the diverse nature of the clients who attend breast screening
- Understanding of their own strengths and limitations, and able to seek support where required
- The ability to work co-operatively, across organisational boundaries, cultures and diversity to achieve shared goals for the breast screening service and for the organisation
- The ability to maintain and demonstrate the appropriate and necessary technical knowledge for breast imaging and continuing to refine relevant analytical/technical skills as well as professional judgement.
