
5 axis CNC Technician (Programmer/setter/operator) Lichfield
Job description
Picture this, you are working for a company with the most cutting-edge machinery, working with the most advanced materials that supply the most advanced and largest manufacturing companies on the planet tooling.
Also, Picture this, the most advanced, fully autonomous 5-axis CNC machines that run for 24 hours, with over 30 tools in there, grinding, cutting - in a building that has the coolant pumped from tanks off the shop floor, and all the air conditioning taking the fumes away. Program it on a Friday, come back Monday - and collect the job(s).
The working environment, I will admit is the best I have seen. The building is extremely modern, light, and full of natural light. People that work there, are so proud of the place of work. When you walk from the outside in, you are at in awe of the environment.
They can do everything in-house, from inspection to coating to CNC, to welding to laser cutting. And you as an engineer will be given the opportunity to learn all this and build up on your current knowledge.
What will you be doing?
Joining our existing team of skilled engineers, you will be required to manufacture & refurbish cutting tools using 5-axisCNC grinding equipment. Manufacturing anything from the most one-off expensive tool to 20-30 specialist bits of kit for the biggest manufacturers in the world, like Airbus, to reconditioning Joe Bloggs industries down the roads tools, because they love the quality of the brand.
You may not be a 5 Axis CNC grinder, and if you are, want to hear from you. But if you are a time served, apprentice trained, 5 Axis programmer (don’t worry about what language as it all trained), that can work to the tightest of tolerances (5-10 microns) - with the attitude of pride of what you do, want to learn and develop your skills, and add to it with other methodologies like coating!
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement CNC programs for 5-axis machines based on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Set up and align workpieces, tooling, and fixtures for machining operations.
- Monitor machine performance and adjust programs or settings as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machines and equipment.
- Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to optimize production processes and workflows.
- All training will be given.
Qualifications:
- Education - HNC/HND/Degree/Time served/Apprentice trained in Manufacturing/CNC 5 Axis/Programming
- Work experience - 3+ years of experience programming and operating 5-axis CNC machines, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
