The base
We're based in the City of London - close to our clients, in the heart of the UK's financial centre and have everything we need to work flexibly.
The department
As the largest growing team, with over £200 billion AUM and over 190+ employees, Solutions is the place to be. The Solutions team at Schroders specialises in developing new investment solutions by utilising our investment expertise and collaborating with other investment desks within the company. This involves building tailored portfolios and working closely with our global institutional clients, such as pensions and insurance funds, to understand and address their unique investment requirements.
The teams
As a graduate at Schroders, you'll have the opportunity to rotate across two of the following teams on one-year long rotations: Consulting; Portfolio Implementation; Derivatives.
- The Consulting team advises over 100 defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes. You'll be assisting with investment modelling, client education, and helping clients achieve desired outcomes. Further tasks could include modelling pension liability cash flows, designing long-term investment strategies, and providing updates on investment strategies.
- The Portfolio Implementation team constructs and monitors multi-asset portfolios, managing risk and return to align with client goals. You will assist with planning, executing, and reporting on portfolio transitions, modelling trades across asset classes and markets, providing trade and exposure analysis, conducting ongoing risk monitoring, and measuring investment performance.
- The Derivatives team at Schroders provides innovative solutions to help pension schemes manage their liabilities, assets, and returns. As a member of this team, you could model pension liability cash flows, design liability matching portfolios, monitor hedge portfolios, execute trades, deal with client queries, and report on hedge portfolio performance.
The Programme:
- The two-year programme will consist of one annual rotation between the teams
- Graduates will complete the CFA qualification and be provided with learning materials and courses
- Graduates will be set up on a variety of networking sessions with senior members across the firm

The knowledge, skills and qualifications we're looking for
- An honours degree or equivalent – we're not fussed when it comes to your degree subject or predicted grade
- You will be in your final year of study or already graduated
