Job description
The Firm
The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is a leading global financial services firm providing investment banking, securities and investment management services to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and high-net-worth individuals. Founded in 1869, the firm is headquartered in New York and maintains offices in London, Birmingham, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Hong Kong and other major financial centres around the world.
The Programme
Skills that are second nature to military veterans, such as leadership, teamwork and problem solving, are in high demand in our industry – and at Goldman Sachs we consider these traits invaluable.
Launched in 2013, the Goldman Sachs EMEA Veterans Integration Programme (VIP) provides service men and women exiting the military, and military spouses and partners with an opportunity to develop their professional skills, strengthen their understanding of financial services and prepare for future careers in the industry. Outside of their day-to-day responsibilities, participants complete a curriculum, including a series of trainings on financial markets and products and attend networking opportunities and events. Participants will also connect with Goldman Sachs leaders, buddies and mentors for guidance and direction to develop their career.
The programme runs across multiple divisions and participants will be aligned to one business area.
2024 EMEA VIP dates:
12-Week Internship: Monday 26 February – Friday 17 May 2024
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands (with infrequent travel to London)
Application Deadline: 1 October 2023
Eligibility:
- Minimum of one year military service
- Military separation date between April 2022 and March 2024
- Must not have entered full time paid employment since leaving the military (excluding internships)
Spouses & Domestic Partners:
We are accepting applications from spouses and domestic partners to those currently serving in the military, or service leavers exiting the military within 6 months either side of the programme start date, whereby a domestic partner includes a Civil Union partner, and live-in partner (living together for at least 12 months).
