Is this role right for you?
The GWO Summer Internship focuses on Onboarding and key Know Your Customer (KYC) activities including Global Banking & Markets new customer onboarding, trigger events, periodic review, and regulatory onboarding across all risk levels. You will assist with conducting required Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF), sanctions and adverse news screening. You will support the GBM Onboarding management to enhance processes and controls as well as data quality.
What will my responsibilities look like?
- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge
- Conduct KYC CDD, EDD activities for GBM Europe customers including, but not limited to, new onboarding, trigger events and Periodic Review to ensure that KYC activities are executed in compliance with the all governing regulations, internal policies and procedures
- Support with ensuring KYC activities are conducted with timeliness, completeness and to a high quality
- Pro-actively deepen knowledge of the governing regulations, policies and procedures, as well as to effectively apply them to the day-to-day KYC due diligence process, sharing learnings and best practices with the team
- Pursue process enhancement by identifying opportunities and collaborate with GBM Onboarding management and the Quality Control team to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of the KYC process, ensure sound customer interactions, solid data quality, and sound AML controls.
- Pursue effective and efficient operations of activities, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk
Do you have the skills and requirements that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you:
- Are a penultimate year undergraduate student studying a relevant degree (e.g. Finance, Economics, Business etc)
- Can demonstrate basic understanding of UK KYC/AML requirements, various financial instruments, and legal entity structure types
- Exhibit sound judgement to detect, solve, or escalate problems efficiently and effectively
- Possess strong attention to detail, communication, and analytical skills
- Are confident operating effectively with changing priorities and tight time frames
