Opportunity
Ransomes Jacobsen Ltd (part of Textron Specialized Vehicles) are looking for an IT Summer Intern in 2023. This summer internship will prepare you for your first steps into the business world. Working with the local IT team who are responsible for a number of global locations you will gain experience across a variety of IT disciplines, with focus on infrastructure and applications. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in projects with the global Textron Specialized Vehicles and Textron enterprise IT teams.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Participate in the development of end-user Power BI reporting solutions by understanding user requirements, designing, developing and testing solutions;
- Participate in the initial preparation for a replacement ERP application
- Assist in designing, documenting and testing applications and infrastructure processes, procedures and standards and to maintain or prepare system and software documentation as directed;
- Perform the configuration and deployment of all IT equipment, including laptops, desktops, phones and midrange equipment;
- Provide support for IT equipment, including laptops, desktops, midrange and phones;
- Liaise with external vendors for the ongoing support and maintenance of relevant hardware and software including Machine Tools;
- Assist in keeping track of the company’s infrastructure assets and manage software licenses to ensure that the infrastructure and data is kept secure and compliant at all times;
- Perform and coordinate testing for new productivity tools, patches and disaster recovery validation;
- Work with peers across the entire Textron enterprise to continuously improve time to market, cost and customer satisfaction for the business;
- Work with Textron Information Services Security team to ensure that technology is used, managed and supported in accordance with company enterprise standards, policies and procedures;
- Implement key initiatives associated with managing overall Textron security profile;
- Ensure that all work and changes are performed in such a way as to minimise all disruption to existing business use.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience Required:
- You should be pursuing a degree in one of the following: Computer Networks, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or similar;
- Familiarity with industry-standard software, including Microsoft Office;
- Understanding of typical networking technologies and topologies;
- Understanding of Windows workstation and server operating systems;
- Strong interpersonal and oral/written communications skills;
- Enthusiasm to learn and use new skills;
- Creatively and effectively meet real-world business requirements;
- Demonstrated leadership and personal motivation.
