Job description

Location: Glasgow

Closing date: 10 July 2023

Salary: £27,000 with the potential to rise to £28,000 after 18 months

Employment type: Fixed term for two years

Are you a recent graduate who is passionate about making a real difference to people’s lives If so, apply today for Wheatley Group’s 2023 Ignite graduate programme.

The successful candidate will be placed in a housing team in Glasgow and will primarily work from home with regular travel when required to customers in Glasgow.

Our two-year programme offers our graduates the opportunity to build on their academic achievements and develop a career they can be proud of.

Working in housing can be challenging, but the rewards are endless. As a housing graduate, you will work closely with housing officers on arrears and void management and tackle anti-social behaviour in our local communities. You will help tenants access our wraparound services, including fuel and welfare benefits advice, to ensure they get all the support they need.

Right from the start you’ll be working in a frontline role, delivering services that make a positive impact to our customer’s lives. You'll be part of a fast-paced working environment where you'll be trusted and valued for your contributions.

You’ll have the satisfaction of knowing what you do really matters because everyone needs somewhere safe, warm and affordable to live.

You will also benefit from a bespoke training plan, including an accredited housing qualification, designed to accelerate your learning and give you a solid foundation of working in housing, so you're ready to become a housing officer within the first six months of joining the programme.

To be eligible to apply, you must:

  • have a 2:1 degree or above in any discipline by September 2023 or graduated two years prior to 2023;
  • be legally entitled to work in the UK on a full-time basis and complete a satisfactory Basic Disclosure check;
  • have a full UK driving licence or commitment to attain within two years (Wheatley will contribute);
  • travel to and from your assigned locality grouping, as well as Wheatley offices as and when required; and
  • meet the role requirements within the specific job profile.

Successful graduates will earn a starting salary of £27,000 with the potential to rise to £28,000 after 18 months

  • 28 days of annual leave - with an additional 13 days of public holidays;
  • a contributory pension scheme;
  • special discounts, including cashback and discounts with thousands of high-street retailers;
  • help to cover the costs of driving lessons, and other great benefits; and
